I picked up the bus today from The Salvation Army Moonah - thanks to Lt. Amy Jones!
So the packing has begun. All the promo gear from PR is on board. I gave the bike one last clean after my last session on the trainer this afternoon. The toolkit and spares are all set. I've just got to pack my bag, gather the last of the equipment in the morning and then head off to Launceston tomorrow afternoon.
If I'm honest, I've been feeling a little nervous for a day or two. I'm not worried about the distance, but the repeat each day and the climbs are hovering on the edges of my mind taunting me a bit. I think I just want to begin.
In the end though, I'm determined to enjoy every bit of the next week. I've ridden enough times with Aaron now to know that when you're out on the bike, you really need to make sure you lift your head and look around you; he often reminds me - I can't think of a better place than Tasmania to ride along and take in the beauty and wonder of nature.
