The day started early this morning with an interview over the phone with Chris Wisby on ABC Local Radio. Then it was off the collect the rest of the crew; Stuart and Phill from Launie, and Aaron and Dennis from the Airport.
After getting everything in the bus, we headed for Elizabeth Town Cafe for breakfast. And who should we find as we open the Mercury and the Advocate..?
According to the Mercury, Stuart Foster is my Brother-in-law! |
The welcome at Burnie was great! Thanks to Captain's Mark & Belinda Smith and the Salvos there for there welcome and the spread of food they put on for us. Burnie Mayor Anita Dowell came to see us off and offered some great words of support and encouragement, then after a few photo's (hopefully for the Advocate later this week) and a prayer, we were off.

And then we finalling starting turning the pedals over and putting some km's in the legs. The weather was sensational and we couldn't ask for more. Once we got of the highway, Dennis jumped into photographer mode and started snapping away.
Pitstop at Devonport |
Thanks go to the Officers of the Northwest; Capt's Smith, Lt Fleur Hodge, and Lt's Clapton for open the doors of their halls and giving us some food and drink along the way.

The pace was good and we're all feeling great. Thanks to those of you who've sponsored us today, tomorrow is likely to be a bit more up and down, so please keep your support coming.
Great start to the ride I see. Thanks for the update Johnmark. Peter V
